Screen-free · on paper

A fresh screen-free activity, printed every morning.

I love finding things to do with my son that aren’t a screen — but keeping the ideas coming, especially first thing in the morning, is the hard part. So I built Printling: it quietly prints something good to do before the day starts, then gets out of the way.

🦕

How it works

Set it once. Then it disappears.

1

Set it up once

Tell it your child’s age and your printer’s email. That’s the whole setup.

2

It prints each morning

A coloring page, a maze, a fun fact — ready before you’re even up. No app to open.

3

Hand it over

Something good to reach for instead of a screen. Paper, not one more thing to scroll.

The Make & Play starter kit

Most activities use things you already have. One big 3,000-piece craft box covers the rest for months — pompoms, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, craft sticks, foam shapes and more. Grab it, tick those boxes in the app, and every activity fits what you own.

Basics you likely already have: crayons, glue, tape, kids’ scissors, construction paper, washable paint.

⚠️ Best for ages 4+ — contains small parts; supervise little ones.

Why I made it

I make technology for a living.

So I think about kids and screens a lot. The hard part of raising a child with less screen time isn’t the “no” — it’s keeping a steady stream of good things to do, especially in the morning. Printling does that thinking for you, on paper, then gets out of the way. It’s not a tracker, and it’s not one more thing to scroll. The whole point is less screen, not more.

Want to try it?

I’m looking for a few families to test it and tell me honestly what helps and what doesn’t. It’s free while we’re testing.
